Der Clou des All-In-One Music Centre ist der CD-Toplader unter geschliffenem Glasdeckel, in den die CD mit Hand eingelegt und mit einem Magnet- puck stabilisiert wird. Ein großes, mehrstufig dimmbares Display sorgt für immer gute Lesbarkeit. Im neunten Produktionsjahr erlebt der Aura Note mit der Version 2 die dritte große Überarbeitung. Äußerlich hat sich nichts geändert, doch im Inneren ist kein Lötpunkt auf seinem Platz geblieben. Die Version 2 nutzt nun eine markige B&O Icepower Endstufe. Um diese bestmöglich anzutreiben, wurde eine Zwischenverstärkerstufe entwickelt, die den traditionell warmen und natürlichen Aura-Klang auch bei diesem modernen Schaltungskonzept erhält. Das gelingt durch einen separaten Ringkerntrafo für die Analogsektion und die weiterentwickelte Digitalsektion. Dort werden jetzt auch Digitalsignale bis zu 24 Bit / 192 KHz optisch oder über USB verarbeitet. Neu sind das schnellere CD-Laufwerk, das digitale Auslesen von iPod und iPhone, die Verarbeitung von WAV- und FLAC-Dateien auf angeschlossenen USB-Sticks und die Möglichkeit, via Bluetooth-Audio auch Streaming vom Smartphone oder Tablet zu nutzen. Geblieben sind der UKW-Radioempfänger, die zwei AUX-Eingänge zum Anschließen weiterer Geräte, der Vorverstärkerausgang für Subwoofer oder Aktivlautsprecher und ein sehr kräftiger Kopfhörerausgang. Klanglich hat es eine klare Weiterentwicklung gegeben und in der Version 2 treibt der Note nun auch anspruchsvolle Lautsprecher zu Höchstleistungen an. Dabei gelingt die Kombination aus wirklich tiefem Bass und samtigen Höhen so gut, dass man glaubt, eine wesentlich größere und teurere Anlage würde musizieren.
