This is an OEM rebadge of the SAE A205, The Audiometric AM441 is the same internally as the SAE A205 but uses the case to cool itself rather than fins on the sides! Hence the fins on the top where the main transistors are mounted. This amp sounds fantastic powering my Vienna Acoustic Haydens and I prefer it to the Yamaha CR1020 I got alongside it. This amp is a bit harder to get into the internals but is still just a matter of taking out the screws you can see and sliding the sides off. I dusted what I could get to and inspected the very large 8 inch toroidal transformer and the caps and there is no bulging or burn marks on any of the pcbs and both speaker outputs offsets are at 10 mV. This came out of an audiophiles estate which included many McIntosh amps and Quicksilver tube amp and preamps. I didnt have the cash they wanted for those so I picked up this amp that went under the radar to those pricing it. A phenomenal amp for the price and if I wasnt as happy with my 9090 I would be keeping this and finding any preamp I could get my hands on.
