The fourth wire is a second ground conductor placed in front of the first. This creates a quasi-symmetrical arrangement. PowerCord uses high purity heavy silver plated copper litz wire with higher conductivity. The litz wire and cable design complies with VDE requirements. Individual conductors are insulated with materials that demonstrate low loss and buildup. This unique construction ensures low dispersion, high noise suppression and the best possible dynamic behavior of the driver and makes shielding unnecessary. Otherwise this would result in loss of dynamics from eddy currents and dielectric effects.
