When it comes to real vintage hi-fi there are a lot of receivers out there Sansui, Pioneer, McIntosh among others. But in my opinion, there is one that is head and shoulders above the competition. The Marantz 4300 is the King of the Vintage amplifier jungle and knocks all the others out of the park. Not just in sound quality, but aesthetically the Marantz has the unique stylish look and feel that just screams classic. From the wood cabinet to the uber cool gyro-touch flywheel tuner. The sound will match anything today under $10k and I will do the Pepsi challenge with anything out there in that price range.I owned a Newer McIntosh that was $9k and it didnt hold a candle to this machine. Especially at lower listening levels. This is a heavyweight contender weighing in at almost 52 pounds of muscle and steel, and 100 Watts per channel. But its not just a powerhouse, it has a warm pleasing and non-fatiguing sound, with one of the worlds best phono sections ever, and an amazing headphone amp, but dont take my word for it. Look up the reviews on this amp, youll be pressed to find anything but rave reviews. Im not disparaging the other amps out there, there are some great ones. This is just my opinion after owning dozens of amps from new to old. Tube to Solid state and this is truly the sweetest sounding machine I have ever owned. And this one is in absolute mint condition. I dont think there is a nicer looking amp in the country. I mean there isnt an imperfection that I can find. This is a time capsule piece that is as beautiful as it is musical. If you can find a better example of a Marantz anywhere you should buy it.So why am I selling? I have 2 and the other one is NOS, and I dont need two.
