Audiolab’s 8000DAC, the epitome of understated sophistication, has just received a facelift. The slab-like facia of the 8000DAC MkII features two extra LEDs detailing which of the three gold-plated BNC (electrical) or Toslink (optical) digital inputs has been selected. Other beacons reveal the incoming sample frequency, the absolute phase and operation of its crystal-controlled phase locked loop. The latter regenerates the Master Clock from incoming digital data using three narrow-bandwidth crystal-based oscillators for each of the three possible sample rates (48, 44,1 and 32kHz). Otherwise, any digital source that falls well outside the Class 1 tolerance is scooped-up by an initial free-running PLL, providing a lock at the expense of extra jitter. The significant alterations to Audiolab’s 8000DAC lie under the bonnet where the Philips BS DAC has been upgraded to a full DAC7 chipset, and where the noisy herd of 4000 Series CMOS logic integrated circuits have been replaced by a single microprocessor. You are about to bid on a PrimaLuna Evo 100 Tube Poweramplifier. This was purchased by me new from a local dealer. The power tubes are EL34 with 12AU7 and 12AX7 tubes in the front end. You can also run KT88 and other tubes as this amplifier will automatically bias to some degree. The manufacturer lists specifications on their website. I’ve used this power amplifier in a system with Tannoy Cheviots. The sound is superb. Very full. Tannoy loudspeakers are quite efficient but I don’t detect any hum or hiss. It’s almost solid state with the holographic qualities of tubes. My preamplifier is a Shiit Freya Plus. I’ve run the 6SN7 tubes and solid state, so called LSST tubes on that preamp with success in this system. I estimate something around 500 or less total hours of listening. I also run a solid state amp and find myself running that more often. This is basically a brand new piece. I have reconfigured my room and need to use only balanced connections. This power amplifier is only single ended so it must go. That isn’t a limitation if your preamplifier source will be reasonably close by. This needs a new home and could be a big score for your system. I’m not in the professional sales game so I can’t take returns at this time. Study this carefully before buying. I’m selling a mcintosh mac6700 integrated amplifier in great condition. 9.5 out of 10 comes with the remote no original box so local pick up only

Please read the description before making your purchase. This amp does work and sounds amazing but has a few issues. Issue #1 obviously it’s used has scratches on one of the VU, and on the side panel vinyl some of the vinyl is separating on the bottom. Issue #2 the on and off switch button is missing the front cap but actual button still intact and works perfectly fine. Issue #3 this is for the speaker select switch channel one works perfectly fine no issues but channel 2 needs attention will only works when fully pressed in but than releases. You can see in a photo. Those three are the main issues, the amp does work all speaker outputs works and sounds amazing. Really hate to sell this amp as I was going to make the repair and upgrade to LED but currently in the process of moving out of state so some of my audio equipment needs to go, shipping is expensive as this is 50lbs but rest assured that it will be packaged very carefully I’ve sold many amps with no issues.
