VINTAGE Denon Electronics DCD-610 Audiophile CD Player MADE IN JAPAN - TESTED!

This is a pair of great sounding high-end speakers from the early 2000s, originally selling for between $4400 and $5200. Bass goes LOW (24Hz spec’d!) and is wonderfully tight and fast, too, with good grunt. Highs and mids are just right to my ears. Very fun and musical and seem to play well with all types of music. I’ve paired these with everything from a Dynaco ST70 to vintage McIntosh to 180-watt monoblocks, with good results. These speakers are working fine, but they aren’t perfect cosmetically. I’d rate them a 6.5 out of 10. The black lacquer has some scratches and scuffs and it looks like some of the glue that held the felt woofer surrounds dripped and etched the finish on one. Still, the grills are in excellent shape and the speakers present very well from the front. Recent past sales of these have ranged from $1400 to $3000 (see attached screen grab from hifishark.com), so I think my asking price is pretty dang good. Comes with grills, spikes, and jumpers. For your consideration is this Rotel RA970BX integrated amplifier. Difficult to find in the US as it was more popular in Europe where people dont tend to gravitate towards receivers as much as in the US. Separates are king over there. High-current design with audiophile components including toroidal transformer, British made slit foil capacitors, Roederstein metal film resistors, Vishal metal foil resistors and Black Gate capacitors. 4ohm stable, putting out 90wpc (60wpc at 8ohms). This is basically an RB970BX amplifier and an RC970BX preamplifier rolled into one unit. If you were to buy those separately, youd be spending over double the asking price of this unit.The amplifier is in great cosmetic shape, and includes the original box and manual. Works as intended too, except for some minor scratchiness when some of the knobs are used - should clean nicely with DeOxit. If youre looking for warm sound, this may not be the unit for you, as it has the typical British sound signature which tends to be neutral in nature. One of the best Philips/Marantz CD players of the early years of this century. The d/a processing is executed by the infamous Philips TDA1541 chipset (with the 2x oversampling) and the excellent Philips CDM-4 transport mechanism is present, as well. Additional improved by Ken Ishiwata to get the Special Edition moniker, this player still sounds very natural and musical compared to designs that happened much, much later in time. This particular unit is extremely well preserved cosmetically and fully functional and performing without any flaws. Remote control handset is not included (very easy to find at low cost on eBay).
