The original styli are in very good condition as shown on a microscope, but the compliance of the cantilever o-ring does not measure up to the the new 150 Shibata stylus. Assuredly no one would ever notice unless youre playing the cannon shots on the Telarc 1812 Overture or the 19 cycles on The Famed Hammond Castle Pipe Organ disk-2 ATP-2 Disco cartridges with the ability to be backspun. 2 original styli and a new replacement stylus. This is a true audiophile level stereo phonograph cartridge. The original box shows signs of aging, and the clear plastic storage case has a small crack in the corner. The stylus is broken and will need to be replaced before the cartridge is used.

Per .hifi-classic.net, the Model AT155LC heads the Audio-Technica line of “Vector Aligned” stereo cartridges. It has a high-efficiency magnetic structure based on the toroidal-coil design introduced a couple of years ago in the company’s AT24 and AT25 cartridges. This “para-toroidal” design eliminates soldered wires between the coils and the terminal pins (the coil wires themselves extend to reach the pins), and the coil cores are extended and shaped to serve as pole pieces. An integral mu-metal shield installed between each channels coils gives improved audio separation between the two channels in addition to its hum-shielding properties. The well-known Audio-Technica dualmagnet design uses two small rod magnets mounted just forward of the cantilever pivot at right angles to the cantilever and to each other. The reduction of electrical and magnetic circuit losses in the generating system of the AT155LC helps to give it an unusually high output voltage for a high-quality cartridge. It is rated at 5 millivolts at a 5-cm/sec velocity. Classic Vintage Audio-Technica AT155LC phono cartridge. Great cosmetic condition. I’m selling for an elderly acquaintance who passed away recently. He was the original owner, upgrading his Technics SL-3200 Direct Drive Automatic Turntable to this cartridge (I am selling the turntable separately). I don’t know how many hours are on the stylus, but he listened to classical music exclusively on vinyl for an hour or two once or twice a week. I have listened to the cartridge on the Technics turntable and it sounds great.

I do not know how many hours have been put on the stylus, but I have tested the cartridge on my turntable and it sounds great considering its age.
