For sale a Pristine Audio Research SP20 Stereo Vacuum Tube Preamplifier. Only used for about three months out of the year in a clean smoke and pet free home. Everything works as it should and it sounds amazing. Never been serviced and it comes with original working remote control, manual, quality assurance certificate and power cord. For sale is my Audio Research SP20 tube preamplifier (note: I also have this amp listed on Audiogon where I typically can offer a better price). Originally sold brand new for $9000. Im selling to downgrade to a more compact (less separates) setup. I purchased this particular unit from The Music Room (tmraudio.com) in early 2022 (Feb 12th to be exact). I have used it in my primary 2 channel setup ever since. This preamp operates flawlessly and Ive never had a single issue with it since day 1. I installed brand new tubes purchased from The Tube Depot back in November 2023, but these newly installed tubes currently have ~ 179 hrs of use (see pics). Comes with original remote and manual. Ill ship in the same box I received it in (see pics) using original packing materials. Weight is around 30 pounds. Shipping will be a flat $70 via either UPS or FedEx. BTW, there is a really good review of this preamp on Stereophile which provides far more details than I could list here. Simply google Stereophile Audio Research SP20 review, but the writer mentions in his summary: With the neutral, detailed, dynamic, and flexible SP20, Audio Research has hit one out of the park. The company has provided in the SP20 a level of performance of both phono and line stage that would cost almost twice as much to match with ARC separates, when the cost of interconnects is included. ARC has included in the SP20 features derived from their flagship Reference 10 line stage, as well as a first-rate headphone amplifier. I never thought Id call a $9000 preamp a bargain, but the SP20 is just that. That original Stereophile review is what originally sold me on purchasing this particular preamp.
