Das in den 1950er Jahren von Ed Villchur und Henry Kloss in Cambridge, Massachusetts gegründete Unternehmen Acoustic Research zählte zu den Pionieren der High Fidelity. Ab 1990 bot AR ein komplettes Hifi-Programm mit auffälligem Design und hoher Verarbeitungsqualität an. Entwickelt wurde nach wie vor in den USA, gefertigt allerdings bei Proton in Taiwan. Die Geräte gleichen zum Teil ähnlichen Modellen von Rotel und AMC. Der Vollverstärker A-03HP verzichtet auf jeglichen Komfort und gibt sich minimalistisch, selbst der Quellenwahlschalter liegt unter einer Klappe verborgen. Diskret aufgebauter Phono-MM-Eingang, eine Tapeschleife und drei weitere Line-Eingänge, CD-Direkteingang. Symmetrischer Doppel-Mono-Aufbau mit zwei Trafos und je Kanal vier Lade-Elkos im Netzteil. Leistung 2 x 35 W/8Ohm bzw. 2 x 40W /4Ohm, Eingangskapazität Phono nur 100 pF. Abmessungen: 43 x 9,3 x 35,4 cm (BxHxT), Gewicht 6,5 kg. Der T-06 bietet UKW und MW/LW-Empfang, Mono-Stereo Umschaltung, automatischen und manuellen Sendersuchlauf. 16 Stationsspeicher, Feldstärkeanzeige per LED, Anschlüsse für UKW und MW/LW Antenne. Abmessungen: 43 x 9,3 x 35,4 cm (BxHxT), Gewicht 6,0 kg. Der Verstärker macht richtig Spaß, besonders der aufwändige Phonoeingang ist prima. Der Tuner bietet nicht viel an Ausstattung, empfängt aber überdurchschnittlich gut und sauber. Beide Geräte sind technisch in einwandfreiem Zustand und funktionieren ohne Einschränkungen. Lediglich die Stationstaste 4 am Tuner benötigt einen etwas kräftigeren Druck. Optisch akzeptabel, aber leider finden sich an den Oberseiten und Kanten der Frontplatten deutliche Kratzer und Kerben, zudem ist der Gehäusedeckel des Tuners stark zerkratzt. Die Mängel an den Frontplatten sind auf den Bildern etwas mit Edding kaschiert. Die Klappe des Verstärkers sitzt etwas schief auf ihrer Achse, lässt sich aber gerade ausrichten. Up for sale is a custom made, audiophile grade, two tonearm turntable of the highest quality. This unit was obtained from the estate of serious music lover. He had it custom made for him when he lived in California. The unit is a complete two tonearm system. One arm is a fine SAEC-308SX tonearm with a new Audio Technica AT-120E moving magnet cartridge loaded in a Nagaoka AL-703 headshell.The second arm is an extremely nice Fidelity Research FR-645 tonearm with a professionally retyped Fidelity Research FR-1 MK3 moving coil cartridge loaded in a second Nagaoka AL-703 headshell. The turntable itself is a quartz locking direct drive Denon DP-6000. The tonearms and turntable are mounted in a very heavy custom made solid wood plinth. The hinged cover is custom made from heavy clear Plexiglas. Included is a 120-100 volt step down transformer (Toyoden CD110) to be used with he Denon. I was told that the Denon could be used without the step-down transformer but the use of the transformer will prolong the transforms life. All the pieces of this system are in excellent condition with the exception of a few minor places on the plinth were the high gloss finish has come off. Please see the pictures for a true representation of the condition of the equipment.
