I married this preamp with an Audio Research VT 200. I decided to sell it, not because of the sonic quality, but because of its 118lb weight and I was concerned with dealing with its 27 tubes over the life of the amp. I replaced it with a Rogue Cronus Magnum 3, which made the LS2 surplus to my needs. While I was using the preamp. I did extensive testing of 12ax7 tubes to find the very best for this preamp. I settled on the Ruby 12ax7 tube. The Ruby designation is used by tube manufacturers for their very best tubes that meet the Ruby standard.I am including 6 Ruby tubes withe shipment. I believe if you mary this preamp with comparable equipment, you will be very pleased with what you here.
