I will sell in excellent condition preamplifier Audio Research SP17Voltage 230At the Phono and linear inputs are installed low-noise field-effect transistors with a PN junction (J-FET), and instead of 12AX7 lamps - 6N30, characterized by high linearity and a long service life. The anode voltage stabilizer is similar to that in the LS17 and LS26 models, as is the stepped volume control with 103 positions (compared to 70 in the SP16), thanks to which the desired volume level can be set with high accuracy, which is especially important for quiet listening. While the maximum input signal level of the SP16 did not exceed 3.5 V, the SP17 allows 9 V to be supplied to the inputs without the risk of overload. The SP16 can be controlled using direct access codes and discrete on-off commands, as well as quick mute (Mute), which can be received from the control controller. The SP17 preamplifier has an extended frequency range and reduced output impedance, allowing the use of long cables and operation with an amplifier with a relatively low input impedance. The gain in the linear path compared to the SP16 remained almost the same (it decreased by only 0.4 dB), while in the phono corrector it became higher (47 dB versus 43.5 dB). The noise level decreased: by 9 dB in the linear path and by 11 dB in the phono corrector, which makes it possible to use pickup heads with a signal level of less than 1 mV. DESCRIPTION This Audio Research Classic 30 was recently given a clean bill of health and a new set of tubes from George Meyer AV in Los Angeles CA. It has one small blemish just to the lower left corner of the AR name plate on the front.  Item will be shipped with tubes installed (unless requested otherwise) in original box and packaging. ABOUT It's tempting to regard the Classic 30 as merely the smaller sibling of the Classic 60 and 150. But the skeptical music lover or audiophile who auditions the Classic 30 is in for quite a shock. Because this little hybrid stereo amplifier - rated at 30 watts per channel packs a sonic authority and eloquent musical veracity that larger, more conventional power amplifiers might envy. Our engineers have discovered that sometimes less is very definitely more. Of course. the Classic 30 features almost all the same technology as its bigger brothers, scaled down for more modest applications. It has four 6550s instead of eight, two 6FQ7 driver tubes instead of four, and no fans because it runs remarkably cool without any help whatsoever. But this smaller design still retains a similar degree of exceptional musical resolution. Even at low gain settings, the Classic 30 is far more musically lucid than amplifiers objectively far more powerful. The Classic 30 is at its pristine best with moderately efficient loudspeakers in small to medium sized listening rooms: with program materials that demand high resolution and subtlety rather than pure muscle.
