What is this item? This cable is referred to as a USB-Ato USB-B (male to male) connector cable. I was instructed to buy this by my Magnolia store representative, so he couldconnect my laptop to my preamplifier unit. This connection permits the digital audio (Tidal, lossless FLAC and ALACfiles, or Spotify premium) (music) stored on your computer to reach the Digitalto Analog Converter (DAC) in your Preamplifier (connecting from headphone/auxresults in downsampling to CD quality in most systems). The reason why I was instructed to buy this cablespecifically, and why I have since come to appreciate it, is that 1) it has thehighest purity of silver that Audioquest can offer functionally, and 2) thiscable includes many innovative enhancements designed to protect the purity ofthe signal between devices. Whythis cable? In short, Audioquest designed this cablewith the highest purity of silver they could work with to minimize how much thesignal (the music) weakens as it gets further from the source device (computer). Next, various innovations were applied to protect thispurified signal from distortion during its journey through the wires betweendevices. As anyone who has lived in anolder house/apartment can attest, ovens, tv’s, fireplaces, and any device thatemits radio waves can interfere with the audio signal. This results in static, buzzing, and otherdistortion, and various insulation innovations were applied to protect theoutside while a radio wave repulsion system was affixed to the outside of thecable. Thus, if one were looking toensure that the most protected digital signal was reaching their preamplifierfrom their computer, this is the best cable I’ve ever found. I am only selling this one because I recentlyupgraded to the 4 meter model, so this is an excellent opportunity to scoop this3M model up at a discount.
