Excellent sound is not a question of size, but certainly one of stature. And the STEP loudspeakers have exhibited stature since AUDIO PHYSIC was founded. Over the course of three decades, we have tirelessly continued to further develop the model. The strong reception of these loudspeakers among music aficionados, not to mention numerous national and international awards, underscore the high class of these units. Now with STEP plus, the most mature STEP model of all time is entering the stage, and the STEP plus gives the term compact loudspeaker a whole new dimension. Not all rooms offer sufficient space for positioning standing loudspeakers. Close to the wall or even pushed off into the corner, most of the time they play far below their sound capabilities. On the other hand, large loudspeakers in small rooms are not always to be recommended, because at low frequencies – more than compact loudspeakers – they tend to produce room modes and thus highly disturbing resonance which can be audible as droning effects. They reproduce complex music material in a calm, collected and uncompromising manner – acoustic magnifying glasses in a true sense. The special cabinet shape lends the STEP plus not only a modern, timeless appearance, it also reduces standing waves in the interior of the loudspeakers. Standing waves jeopardise crisp midrange reproduction in particular. Moreover, ceramic foam reduces resonance in the interior of the STEP plus. The extremely stiff and open-pore material figuratively takes on the function of a labyrinth. The acoustic noise inevitably emitted from the chassis into the cabinet interior essentially gets lost in the pores, thereby undergoing a massive reduction in power, and can no longer affect the sound. Traditional insulation materials do not even come close to achieving this effect. The slight rear tilt of the cabinet body balances out phase differences between the mid and high range. Low mid-range drivers and tweeters are placed flush with the front panel. Deformation effects that can lead to a nervous sound don’t have a chance. An additional essential contribution to natural sound is provided by the re-engineered crossover with its painstakingly selected components. The interior wiring, as well as the high-quality WBT™ control terminal, mechanically decoupled from the cabinet, are also part of the tonal coordination. The sum of all these details leads to a stunning attention to detail and homogeneity that will thrill the discerning audiophile. Liebe Ebayer, ich möchte mich wieder vermehrt meinen Kopfhörern widmen und verkaufe diese wunderschönen Kompakt-Lautsprecher von Audio Physic. Wer sich von den überragenden Klangeigenschaften überzeugen möchte, wird z.B. im Testbericht von Connect.de (von 01.02.2022) fündig: Ein Diamant und Superstar heißt es dort. Der Neupreis liegt m.E. bei 3.090,00 EUR (Paar). Sie machen aber auch nur beim Anschauen Freude: Das offenporige Walnussholz wurde in Brilon makellos verarbeitet. Ich habe die Boxen in 2024 aus dem showroom erworben und nur ein paar Stunden genutzt. Händlerrechnung, schwarze Abdeckungen und Originalkarton liegen vor. Eine zusätzliche Gewährleistung kann ich als Privatperson nicht übernehmen.

These are wonderful little bookshelf speakers. Please do you research and read about them online if you arent already familiar with them. I own two sets of these (the other set are the Step SLE) and am only selling this set. The others are actually a bit less perfect cosmetically and Ill be keeping them long-term. This set is in very good condition both operationally and cosmetically. The previous owner appears to have used some sort of adhesive to attach a DIY grill and there is a truly minuscule amount of residue left on the baffles from it. If I hadnt mentioned it, you might not even notice from 4 inches away. My listening impressions (opinions): In my room, I find these speakers to be very lively. They do not strike me as laid back speakers. On the other hand, I dont find them fatiguing (like, e.g., I find a JBL 035TIA or some of the Klipsch offerings). They image quite well. They dont have a ruler flat response but I like them all the same. I like them even better after applying DiracLive room correction. These speakers will be very well packed and shipped with insurance. If you have any questions, please ask.

Einer der besten kleinen Lautsprecher aller Zeiten, High End für kleine Räume, ein Meisterwerk vom Audio Physic Mastermind Joachim Gerhard. Seltene Ausführung in dunklem Holz. Die original Metallhochtöner wurden professionell durch Seidenkalotte vom gleichen Chassis Hersteller ersetzt, die technische Spezifikationen sind identisch. Dadurch ist das Klangbild noch etwas feiner. Den Vergleich kann ich ziehen, da ich noch ein weiteres Paar Step SLE besitze, allerdings mit einem Furnier, das bei uns besser passt. Alle Chassis funktionieren perfekt, der Klang ist überragend, sehr räumlich und natürlich. Das Holz ist gut, Wohnzimmer tauglich, kleine Mininarben fallen kaum auf. Die originalen und genialen Stands gehören dazu. Abholung ist mir am liebsten, sicherer Versand geht auch, die stands kann man auseinander schrauben.
