AUDIO INNOVATIONS TRANSFORMER STEP UP?I cannot confirm information provided is correct, I cannot find any direct reference to this item. This may be a prototype or one off passive device of some sort. I have limited knowledge of electronics, and only a basic multimeter, so here is what I have been able to find out. What we have here is an Audio Innovations Series 1000 passive control unit case. No cover.2 inputs and outputs marked A and B. There are 4 impedance positions.There appears to be 4 transformers in the box, which seems unusual - two more than expected for an SUT. Impedance switch positions 1 & 2 measure ~28ohms input and~1k5 ohms at output. X50gain?Impedance switch positions 3 & 4 measure ~300ohms input and~1k0 ohms at output. X3.33 gain? A brief test in my system shows one channel to work, though the gain seems quite low for the measurements above. There is intermittent hum. A good clean, contacts check, reflowing solder would certainly help. So, this may be of interest to someone with the knowledge to work out what it does, reconfigure the transformers or whatever.
