It delivers high resolution surround-sound or true audiophile 2-channel music, delivering stunning realism with everything from heavy-weight blockbusters to concert videos, using seven channels of Class-G Amplification - where it is immensely powerful but smooth, providing impressive clarity in equal measure. There are plenty of reviews available both on the internet and on ‘You-Tube’, which can provide a detailed critique on the performance of the Arcam AVR-750, all of which are extremely complimentary. I have owned this Arcam FMJ AVR-750 from new, and as something of an Arcam enthusiast I had previously owned the former Arcam FMJ AVR-600 model for about four years before that, where it was for the dual high performance surround-sound cinema delivery and the audiophile music abilities from one Hi-Fi component that attracted me to the Arcam AVR series in the first place. The Arcam AVR-750 has provided trouble-free performance up until May 2023, where a fault then developed with the AVR-750 switching itself into ‘Standby’ mode (which I believe is a common fault and linked to protection circuitry built within the amp). I subsequently arranged for it to be returned to the Arcam Factory in Milton-Keynes (now owned by Harman UK), through Peter Tyson Hi-Fi - who provided a great service. The repair cost me £450.00 (plus an additional £60.00 Re-Installation Fee), but a number of parts have been replaced and it has also been updated with the latest software – and the repair further has a 12-Month Arcam Warranty. I would anticipate that as this repair has been completed at the Arcam Factory that the AVR-750 should now continue to provide reliable service well into the future. However, during the course of the repair I became tempted by the latest flagship Arcam AVR-31, which Peter Tyson Hi-Fi are stocking, and which resulted in me subsequently purchasing a one after I succumbed to a difficult to resist deal I was offered – and hence the only reason why I am now selling my Arcam AVR-750. Arcam FMJ A22 Integrated Amplifier with Dave Unit fitted. It comes with Remote Control CR234, power lead, 4 speaker cable connectors for this amp and a downloaded manual. This is a stunning sounding Arcam Amplifier which is unsurprising as I understand that this amp is based on the legendary Arcam Alpha 10. It used to be my main amp but I changed it for a Musical Fidelity just over a year ago - its been sitting around doing nothing ever since. I set it up to test before listing two weeks ago and was blown away by how good it sounds, I was tempted to keep it but sadly it has to go because I need the space. Ive tested all audio inputs, and both sets of speaker outputs - all work very well. Ive not tested tape and vcr record sections, neither have I tested the dave unit Please look at the photos and read below before considering bidding:There is a slight barely audible buzz when switched on or on standby (I understand this is common for these amps)The remote control (CR234) is not one listed as being for this amp but works all the audio functions as far as I can seein the past, the amp on rare occasions didnt always switch on when power on button was depressed. I think this was because the button was pressed too lightly. Available on a strictly personal collection only basis with no courier collections or delivery available, sorry. On offer is this superb Arcam FMJ AV8 pre amp/processor with original remote control and instruction manual, and also including a set of 6 RCA phono cables to connect to a multi channel music source or multi channel power amplifier. I have been using this lovely AV8 as a fantastic sounding stereo 2 channel pre amp for the last year or two but it is obviously a fully functional A/V pre amp from yesteryear too. Hugely expensive in its day but lacking some of the bells and whistles of a modern pre/processor, such as no HDMI connections and only supporting older digitally connected surround sound formats such as Dolby Digital Pro Logic II and DTS:ES, this doesnt prevent it from still being a superb sounding unit especially if you have multi analogue RCA outputs from your movie source. When still using it for multi channel music and movies, I used the multi analogue outputs from my Sony Blu Ray player into the 5.1 analogue inputs of the AV8, and then output via the 5.1 analogue outputs to a 6 channel power amplifier, with superb results. I simplified our movie set up a while ago though and have just been using it via 2 channel connections recently for both music and movies, and it still sounds great like that. It is, as I hope the photos show, in excellent cosmetic condition, with a few light scuffs (mainly on the top cover which arent seen in normal use) but nothing horrendous or especially obvious. I have taken a number of enlargeable photos from all angles so you can see for yourself what great condition it is in, please have a good look at them to satisfy yourself of its condition. I have also included a couple to show it powered on with the display clearly visible, so you can see that it is functional too. I no longer have the original box and packaging for this and I have no way of packing it up for transit, so it is being offered on a strictly personal collection only basis with no courier collections or deliveries of any sort available. I may be able to deliver locally for the cost of my fuel if you are not too far away, but please get in touch before buying to see if this is possible. Payment must be either cash upon collection or via ebay payment with the ebay collection code provided to me when picking up so that I can confirm with ebay that it has been collected.
