The issue is that the fans come on way before they should. Theoretically, the fan should only come on when playing at very high volumes, or driving a very demanding load into the speakers. However, these fan switch on shortly after powering up the receiver. Almost certainly not noticeable from your listening position when the music is playing, but something is not right here. This is an audiophile receiver for the music purists! Arcam is known for quality sound. I have the remote and the original box. It is a home theater receiver too, but lacks HDMI inputs and modern tech. Still, its a great receiver! This is local pickup only due to prohibitive shipping costs! The remote control is very sticky!!!! I dont know what is on it, but I tried cleaning it off and I cant get it off. I think the plastic is just leaching out oil. Also, it works, but the backlighting is not as bright as it was when new. A good universal remote will fix that

Arcam AVR300 Home Cinema Receiver/Amplifier. Bought in apx 2004 as part of a surround sound cinema set up this was a wonderful amp. It was repaired in apx 2010 and whilst I believe it is still working it was last used in 2014 do I can’t guarantee it is still operational. It is therefore better to assume it is for parts, just in case.
