AMR CD Player /DAC..Unused at least 5 years. It was bought by me pre used from a dealer who failed to test the CD function and I only discovered the CD Lazer was faulty three years after purchase as I used it in DAC only. It has USB input for a streamer of laptop.The CD Lazer needs replacing. I contacted AMR a few years ago who stated a new lazer will be £100 sent to me but I would need to fit it with the instructions they would give me and requires one point of desoldering and soldering. Im not skilled for that. They declined to do it for me as the unit is mega heavy. I couldnt talk them into it so I just used the DAC mode as it has a USB input for a streamer or laptop. I did think it odd for the manufacturer to refuse fixing it even though I was prepared to pay postage both ways! The batteries in the remote leaked as I stored the remote away and forgot to remove the batteries.please see image.it caused some permanent marking to back of remote. The remote is in fair condition with markings consistent with use and some heavy scratching. The case has some rust as the empty case was stored in a shed for a while. Please see image. The case is in fair condition but totally fit to carry this extremely heavy player/ Dac. I have no idea when the valves will need replacing bit they worked fine before storage.im just a hifi user and have no technical knowledge. I powered it up today for first time but did not do any further testing. The Dac mode was fine prior to storing the item. The sound was very pleasing and full. There is no power cord with the item as I probably just threw it away as it was just a basic cheap one. It is mega heavy. I think about 50kgs in the case and 28 kgs just the player. If it sells the buyer might need to help me bring it downstairs. Ill try to get someone though to help me with that! So this item needs attention but its quite expensive new. It could be useful for someone looking for a DAC only or someone who could replace the Lazer. There is no way this can be posted as the box was disposed of long ago and its very heavy. Collection only from Market Harborough, Leicestershire. As per a request. I hooked up my project streamer to the Dac function. Please see last image. That works fine as expected and plays from Tidal and USB fine like it did before I put it in storage. I used it only in Dac mode as the one time I tried cds it skipped as per the the description I wrote when I first listed this. Please read carefully. I have given the machine a dusting and packed it away. I will not set it up again for any winning bidder to see it working before they take it away. If you want that then please don’t buy this. It works in DAC mode fully and it was tested 26 July and you can see the image of it hooked up. That was a lot of work. If it don’t sell, I’ll use it myself in another room. The person who requested this never paid any further interest! I have resisted the item. I tried a cd and the display reads no disc. The last time I tried a disc it skipped. I also noticed that a screw is missing from the remote control. Piease see image. Thank you. Dinesh
