Ampex Professional Audio Tape type 641, 7 inch, 1/4inch x 1800 ft.  Made at Ampex Magnetic Tape Divison, California circa late 1980s. These are 7 inch spools in NEW condition, never been used. As a user of quality audio tapes I have always found the Ampex Professional 641 formulation one of the best, with a good balance between highs and lows and very quiet compared to many other brands. It was made at a time when many storage media companies including Ampex were competing with digital storage media and consquently there were great improvements in tape formulations. Ampex 641 offers a SNR of 64dB which accounts for a wide dynamic range and THD  less than 0.1% one of the lowest for a tape of this kind.
