Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage ALTEC-LANSING 2 inch cone tweeter removed from my ALTEC-LANSING Model 208 speakers, manufactured in 1982. ALTEC sourced this high frequency driver from Japan’s Tonegen, one of the world’s largest suppliers of OEM audio drivers. So, please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this capable, hard-to-find tweeter is correct for your needs. This ALTEC Model 208 tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. It has a structurally perfect paper cone and flawless voice coil dustcap, well-protected by the removable aluminum faceplate with acoustically-transparent grille. Plus, the anodized steel basket is in great shape with no dings, scratches, or oxidation, just some wear at the mount holes from hurried factory installation. Also, the +/- terminals measure the standard .205”, have never been soldered on the spades, and positive is the red gasket side. Overall, this tweeter is exceptionally well-preserved. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds terrific—very strong with clear upper frequency detail approaching the sparkly threshold of audibility. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 6.3? consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 2 13/16” square, the cone proper is 2?”, it stands 1?” tall (not including the 5” x 3” cover plate and raised screen), and the mount holes are spaced 2?” adjacent / 3?” diagonal apart, c-t-c. This is a great find if your ALTEC Model 208 has a blown tweeter and will have your speaker sounding its best again! And, long out of production, it’s a great spare to have on hand just in case. As pictured and described, this ALTEC LANSING 2” cone tweeter is offered at a competitive price. Hochton und Tiefton klingen in diesem schweren Holzgehäuse (12 Kg) sehr gut. Vor allem kommt auch der Bass deshalb gutzum Tragen. Ich hatte sie in meinem Büro (20 qm). Aus dieser Erfahrung kann ichsagen, dass sie sehr ausdrucksstark sind bis etwa 30 qm. In geringer, aber ebenauch in höherer Lautstärke für diese Raumgröße. Wo stärkere Boxen nicht zumKlingen kommen und kleine zu flach sind, zeigen sie ihr großes Potential. Weich, doch eindrucksvoll. Für Verstärker bis zu 100 Watt empfohlen von Altec-Lansing. 8 Ohm. Solche Boxen werden heutzutage in solchen Gehäusen nicht mehr angeboten. Die Blenden sind nicht beschädigt, voll intakt und wie neu, nachdem ich siemit warmem Wasser ordentlich gespült habe. Hochwertiger schwarzer LS-Stoff auf einem stabilen starken Holzrahmen. Sieht phantastisch aus! Original mit Kletthalterung. Die Fotos wurden VOR der Wäsche gemacht. Als ich sie kaufte vor etwa 8 Jahren, fehlte ein original Emblem. Mit viel Glück habe ich vor einigen Jahren eines gefunden. Der Versand, wenn nicht Abholung, ist natürlich möglich, aber mit Risiken verbunden, wie jeder weiß. Sie passen aber in stabile Umzugskartons, was mit Porto (2 Pakete) allerdings 28 Euro kostet.
