This is an Akai HX1 vintage cassette player / recorder that works well. It is soft touch machine and so the mechanics engage and disengage under control of the motor. I have checked the belts and they are not new but work well. The machine has come from a relative who has given up with cassettes. The sound is stable and much brighter without dolby on. I have put a new foot at the bottom left so that the front door opens and closes properly otherwise the door can touch the table. and the tape does not insert correctly. Any questions?
