This rare vintage receiver has an amazing look and fantastic sound. Clean watts that can drive any speakers. I used it with dahlquists and bozak symphonies with great results. Recently cleaned and refurbished with fresh lights. Sounds amazing!

Heres a nice stereo amplifier by AKAI 2800 series. Manufactured in 1976 we just recently restored this unit. We have included before and after pictures to prove that we actually do work on our electronics. 30-day eBay warranty First step to this unit was a thorough cleaning inside and out as you can see from the pictures it was very dusty and dirty. Next was the check all diodes capacitors. Some of the capacitors and fittings were cleaned for corrosion. Next we repaired the wooden cover.. as you can see from the pictures a few of the wooden areas were broken so we cut them out and simply taped the area closed with black construction duct tape. I was thinking about cutting a fiberglass plastic panel on the top of it to make it see through. Next week thoroughly cleaned and anti corroded the knobs three of the knobs were missing so we replaced them with Sony knobs from another unit. What you can see in the pictures as the black knobs. One of the smaller flicker knobs is missing but still a functions as it should.. The internal light bulb was broken so replaced it with a new light bulb which is a bit larger similar to the ones used in car signal lights. While we were in there we also wired in an LED underglow. This morning is directly to the power light so soon as you turn the unit on it has the red undergo. ( If you want to change the color any LED could be wired into the same wiring.) Super clean solder! The top cover was painted black, because the wood was too dull in color. These old units are built like tanks, meant to last years to come. Old brown motherboards have large capacitors and components which you can easily replace should one burn out. The next thing we did was test the unit for full functionality and its good to go. Unit came to me with a blown left channel. It is now fixed and working as it should. The problematic power switch has been replaced with a new switch. Installed 16 new caps. Two output transistors, several power transistors, three resistors and a blue LED. A missing lever switch cover was installed in the middle of the three lever gang. Non matching. But looks good. The face and knobs pulled and cleaned. All controls cleaned. Bias set. Two minor vinyl repairs on the case. A small piece is missing in the back of the unit for the Switched outlet. Overall great clean and sounding unit.
