This is the most amazing phono stage that I have ever heard. 10 tubes. But I did not realize that the unit is 18 wide and not the traditional 17. This thing is a beast, and I cannot get it to fit anywhere in my sound room. I am really bummed about this because I love the sound of this thing. If you look it up you will see that this is a $10,000 unit. All I want to do is to get close to breakeven. I am including 2 sets of 12AX7 tubes, Genalex Gold Lion and Tung Sol. I am also including a brand new, never used black front faceplate and buttons. Instructions to change it are included. You have to hear this thing to believe it. According to Aesthetix the amp it came out of was produced in Oct 2020, so Im assuming the card is the same age.Excellent condition (9/10); I can see no flaws. One plastic Toslink cover plug is missing. Selling because I aleady had an outboard DAC when I bought the Mimas. Currently retails for $1,250.00. Once a week, simply plug in your turntable leads to the ABCD-1, then activate the gently ramped, up-and-down cycle of the ultra-pure demagnetizing signal. The Aesthetix ABCD-1 MC Cartridge Demagnetizer was designed to meet a specific need in todays marketplace: an affordable MC cartridge demagnetizer which restores your cartridges potential without residual sonic signature. Periodically demagnetizing a moving coil cartridge removes the veils which creep up as you enjoy your record collection. Simply put, these veils are the result of compromised electromagnetic performance of your phono cartridge. The Aesthetix ABCD-1 MC Cartridge Demagnetizer eliminates these veils, recovering the dynamics, nuance and emotion of your favorite LPs. The ABCD-1 is battery powered for ease of use and worldwide operation. To better understand how the ABCD-1 works, remember that a moving coil phono cartridge is basically a coil of wire wound around a piece of iron (or ferrous material) suspended within a magnetic field. This electrical generator is activated by the phono stylus in the record groove, moving the wire coil and thus generating a signal to be amplified and reproduced by your loudspeakers. Think back to a simple science experiment placing a pin against a strong magnet for a few minutes. Afterwards, the pin, which is made of ferrous material, becomes magnetized enough to attract another pin. Todays best moving coil phono cartridges use very strong magnets such as neodymium and samarium cobalt. When the moving coil absorbs some of the magnets charge, the sound becomes murky and less defined. This is because the magnetized coil does not generate as great a variation as it moves within the magnetic field of the phono cartridge. The Aesthetix ABCD-1 MC Cartridge Demagnetizer neutralizes the unwanted magnetic charge of the moving coil, restoring full performance in a matter of minutes. Demagnetizing your moving coil cartridge with the Aesthetix ABCD-1 every 1 to 2 weeks will prolong the life of your phono cartridge, increasing your enjoyment and appreciation of the music. The ABCD-1 works on the principle of demagnetization similar to a tape head degausser. A fixed high-frequency signal is gradually increased from zero amplitude up to a maximum level where it is maintained for a fixed length of time. The signal is then gradually reduced in amplitude to zero again. Differing from other cartridge demagnetizers, the ABCD-1 signal is a very pure sine wave with ultra low distortion. To use the ABCD-1, plug your phono leads into the unit and disconnect both the left and right from your preamp. Turn the Demagnetizers power on and depress the activate button. An LED will illuminate for the duration of the demagnetization process. When the light turns off, the process is complete. Reconnect your inputs and outputs and turn off the unit. Its that quick and easy!
