Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage ADVENT 1 inch soft dome tweeter removed from my ADVENT 4002 speakers, USA-manufactured in 1983. From what I’ve read, this is the first soft dome tweeter used by ADVENT and was also found in other period ADVENT models, the 3002, 5002, 5012, and 6003. So, please take a look at the large photos I’ve taken, the measurements, and read the remaining description to decide if this capable ADVENT dome tweeter should be yours. This ADVENT tweeter is in clean, fair-to-good condition. It has a perfect poly dome with no dents or dimples. Unfortunately, the plastic faceplate is not in the best shape with mount hole cracks at all four corners, even some light stress cracks at the main surface. The brittle plastic coupled with factory over-torqueing of the mount screws has made this a fairly common occurrence with these tweeters. I neatly glued three of the corners where the broken plastic was still there, so a light touch must be used when retrofitting to your speaker. Plus, the large ceramic-ferrite magnet is in great shape with no chips or oxidation. And, the +/- terminals are color-keyed for polarity (red dot side = pos) and have never been soldered on the spades. Overall, this ADVENT tweeter is quite serviceable. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds very clear with strong output and lively upper midrange extending to a full 23kHz . Plus, its DC resistance tested at 7.7?, right in line with a nominal 8 ohm rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 5” by 4 7/16” and it stands about 1¼” (incl. the dome). This is a nice find if your 4002 or other suitable ADVENT has a tweeter that’s blown and will have your speakers sounding their best again. Unless you play your speakers with the grilles off, that blemished faceplate will be forgotten about in no time! As pictured and described, this ADVENT soft dome tweeter is offered at a reasonable price.
