This combo is a excellent email stereo. The pre amp is of a newer design, with digital tuner readout. Phono , CD, tape 1 , Tape 2 Aux. Import. It is very heavy at almost 13 lbs. Bass/treble and balance pots. Tuner presets. All in all a very easy pre-amp to use. Now for the 5400 power amplifier, this uses MOSFETs for power. At 125 watts per channel, it is a power house, I was running dual woofer infinity 5b, park of the 82 kappa line, these have visual 6.5 inch . The sound was beautiful thru this amp. It is mid weight at 27 lbs. Gold plated inputs. Banana plugs speaker outputs. The only concern is MOSFETs circuits run hot. I kept this on an open shelf, it never shut down from overheating. I have both looked at by a local vintage tech. The amp just needed ba bit of cleaning. The pre amp had 2 caps replaced. I hate to get rid of these , time to down size. Good condition with one small blemish that is about 2mm on the very bottom front. Unit powers on great and was in use when I acquired it. All functions seem to be working great and these Adcoms are great hi fidelity units. Comes with manual, remote and power cord with main unit. The unit currently has the deck mount brackets installed but those can be removed if they are not your preference. Legendary Adcom GFA555 works excellent, and looks good too. Its vintage so some scratches on the case etc but faceplate and rear panel is very nice. Input jacks were replaced with new ones, other than that all original. Slight bend in one of the cooling fins in rear, see pics. GTP 400 Preamp/Tuner. NOTE, this tuner was repaired (the variable capacitor in the tuner was replaced, this goes bad in ALL of them eventually). Works well and sounds excellent on all functions.
