I am the original purchaser/owner of this Adcom GTP-750 Pre-Amp/Digital Processor/Tuner. I purchased this directly from Adcom in Marlboro, NJ in 2004. After I couldnt find one in stores I called their headquarters, and they told me they had stopped production of this line but they did have a Show Sample in stock that they would sell me. They said a Show Sample was a piece that was used to display at Trade Shows so if customers wanted to, they could see what each piece looked like when it was powered up. They said before every show it was thoroughly inspected and tested by Adcom engineers, because the last thing they needed was for a potential customer to want to see the unit turned on and have something not work on it. They said it was in great condition, with only a few light scuffs/scratches on the bottom and for that theyd sell it to me for $1700 instead of the $2000 MSRP. Since I rarely look at the bottom of my components and really liked that Adcom engineers had inspected and tested this multiple times, I purchased it. Everything works perfectly: All lights, functions, and the backlit remote control. Cosmetically there are no dents, and besides the previously mentioned light scratches on the bottom that it came with (see pics) there are no scratches anywhere else. When I received this it came out of its box and went directly into my stereo rack and sat there, virtually untouched because all functions were performed through the remote control from then on. Then after living its entire life in a non-smoking, temperature and humidity controlled environment it came out of the stereo rack and went back into its original box. Ive probably had it turned on for maybe...200hrs total? Im not sure exactly how long, but you can see in my pics that the original plastic covering on the backlit remote control is still intact indicating the care, and lack of use its had. This is the last remaining piece of a well loved and well cared for stereo system. You can see in my feedback that Ive sold my entire stereo system right here on eBay (with the exception of this very last piece). In order I sold my: #1) David Hafler DH-110 PreAmp.
