This is a very lightly used audiophile level class A/B amplifier, and while not in showroom condition, it is very very close to that, very... I am the 2nd owner, the 1st being Absolute Sound in Woodland Hills, Ca I bought this as a floor demo (closed their doors in the early 90s). I also have an Adcom GTP-450 stereo preamp/tuner listed separately for $275 here on eBay. It has some very light scratching in a small area on its top and is otherwise in very clean condition. Both units work beautifully and may be purchased together ($750) or separately. For you Maggies fans, this was driving a set of Magnapan 3.3r speakers, and it handles the 4 ohm load without issue. Very nice gear in great condition! I have an old friend that runs this identical amplifier with his Magnapan LRS+ and he absolutely loves how it sounds.

The Adcom GFA-5500 is an absolute beast of an amplifier (44lbs) providing 200 clean RMS watts per channel into 8 ohms and 350 into 4 ohms. Cosmetic condition is quite good with only a few nicks and small scratches (see pictures). I had this unit recapped about 4 years ago, replacing the large capacitors in the power supply. This is necessary maintenance for these older powerhouses that keeps them running like new for another couple decades or longer. This amp will compete with anything of its size in todays high-end audio market and is still one of the best values in audio.

Adcom GFA-5500 Power Amplifier Used power amplifier about 20 years old. Use was fairly light as I was often away from home. I took a few pictures with the cover removed to show how the large electrolytic capacitors look normal. When these get old and are near the end the tops tend to bulge out like a dome. These are still nice and flat. This is no guarantee but they appear to be in good shape. This said to be a Nelson Pass design as well. It works fine and has always sounded really good to me. I need to sell this and downsize my living room. Excellent example of a legendary power amplifier. Nelson Pass design, and in this iteration it is improved with MOSFET circuitry, which has a bit richer, warmer sound. A bit tubelike. Gobs of power, 200 watts x2, will drive anything with authority. Absolutely excellent condition, very clean on the outside (see photos). Inside in great shape as well, just a bit dusty, see photos. Recently checked out and given a clean bill of health. Sound is just wonderful. I would keep it but it’s massive and I don’t need 200 watts. I purchased this from the original owner, and it was obviously well cared for in his home listening room. It comes in the factory box with the owners manual. An excellent amplifier in all regards. I’ve done my best to describe the condition, and provided plenty of photos. If you have any questions please ask. This amp weighs 48 pounds and will be expensive to ship.
