Classic Adcom DAC with the well regarded PCM63 chips...Ive enjoyed the musicality of this unit since purchased here on eBay by a seller who is well versed in modifications of this unit (I am not) I will include a copy of our communication regarding this unit and I quote Tricked out. Every single cap in the output stage has been upgraded with the best option I could find. I did it in 2 stages. First stage was socket the opamps and replace with OPA627 and new film bypass caps. That was the biggest bang for the buck. Then I went back in and upgraded every cap sparing no expense.That brought it to a new level. I also upgraded several caps in the power supply section with Panasonic FC. Another forum member has a power supply cap upgrade suggestion I went with. Didnt notice any difference with that upgrade,but having new caps in an old unit is always good. Theres literally nothing that could be done at this point to make it any better Faceplate is really nice as is the rest of the unit with the exception of the top cover which exhibits some rust bubbles but certainly not terrible...A nice custom fabricated 5 foot 10 Gauge (A little overkill) power cable included...Buy with confidence from an eBay member since 1998!

This PCM63 based DAC is fully operational and in excellent working order. I recently modified the DAC by replacing all its electrolytic capacitors - Nichicon MUSE (FG, KZ and ES) for power supply and Elna Silmic II for the analog section. In addition, the two opamps were replaced with socketed OPA627, the 0.1uf bypass caps were replaced with Vishay 1837. Now the DAC is in a different league with better clarity, dynamics and staging. There are some minor blemishes on the chassis, but the faceplate is in perfect condition. No cables come with the unit.

COAX 1 input had a cap on it when I bought it. Have not tested this input or the optical, I only used one input and a coax switcher. OPA627 and associated caps replaced on both channels. Nice sounding PCM63 DAC!
