Very clean remote

This unit powers on, the 5-disc tray opens nicely, and detects discs and will switch between discs, will spin the discs, but will not read discs. After the unit loads a disc, it spins it up, then fails to read the disc, then stops spinning the disc. It seems like the laser head mechanism will not move back and forth and is stuck next to the disc spindle. This unit has two small dents in the right top cover visible in the photos, it is immaculate and dust and dirt free inside, the outside has the usual few small scratches and smudges you would expect for a 31 year old piece of equipment.

I cant believe this unit is 31 years old and still works! I lost the remote long, long ago. The only issue is the 5-disc platter grinds some as it switches between discs. There is no feature that does not work on this unit. The 5-disk tray opens and closes, it reliably switches between discs, it plays of course, and sounds great. It pauses and stops on command. It detects discs and rotates the platter to each disc. The LED front panel display fully works, as well. For a 31 year old CD changer, there are remarkably few and only very small scratches. No dents, and no very bad scratches. Id give this unit an 8 of 10 for cosmetic condition. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a similar unit in this good shape. The worst cosmetic flaws are documented in the pictures: the scratches above the Open/Close button; the paint scrapes above the power cord; and the tiny paint chip on top left of cabinet.

When i first got it the unit wouldnt read a disc. It would recognize there was one there. I cleaned off the laser and it started working. Marking it parts or repair just because of how it was prior to the laser cleaning but last time I used it the unit worked. Sold as is.

I’m the original owner, unit works fine before, sometimes it cannot engage playhead, carrousel can open and close. Disc Skip function, remote work. Cannot consistently make that to play . Now it play, sometimes seems skipping line. Sometimes it won’t play at all. I had that playing for the past month, that’s why I took it off from the listing. Now it quit on me again, I’d no way of finding out what’s wrong. Have to give it up to someone who knows better. - no reserve. Just the remote is worth over $30.00
