Speakers only..............................no cabs..no crossovers...no tweeters. Please understand that Im only offering these speakers for parts or repair. They came out of a set of high end forest series with the hi gloss cherry finish. They were damaged cosmetically on the front and the surrounds are ripped. One has a hairline scratch....not torn dust cover or cone. The others dust cover is pushed in. So, I know these are very high end speakers and I would hate to dispose of them if there is someone out here that would like to take on this project...so good luck....all sales final, no returns, as is where is. This listing is for the FRONT COVERS ONLY. Not the entire speaker. These Front Covers are for the Duetta Signature Series speakers. These Front Covers are BLACK (Anthracite). Apogee Acoustics ribbon speakers come with spray-painted, MDF front covers, which can be removed and exchanged quite easily. You can do this by placing a speaker face uppermost on a pair of carpenters saw-horses (or suitably-sized boxes). The bottom rim of the speaker (facing the floor when upright) has two screws in it. Remove these screws. Place your fingers under the rim of the cover and lift up. There are also 6 internal velcro strips attaching the front covers to the face of the speaker. Lifting will break the grip of the velcro attachments. The top end of the speaker covers hook over some protrusions at the top of the speaker. So push the cover back slightly to clear these protrusions and then you can lift the entire front cover clear of the speaker. I purchased these Duetta Signature Series Apogees back in January 1989. The speakers themselves worked fine until 2014, when the ribbons gave out. I had the ribbons professionally replaced; however, the speakers were not the same. Their sound improved as they warmed up but this took at least 30-45 minutes, during which time they sounded rough. Over the intervening 9 years, this problem has gotten worse. I have decided that this is the end of the line for these old speakers. They are not easily shipped since they weigh over 200 lb each, so they have to go freight. However, the Front Covers are still in perfect condition (both the Left and the Right). They are like brand new. They have no marks or scratches on them and there is no separation of the butt joints in the MDF. If you check my feedback, you will see that I do not exaggerate the condition of things that I sell; when I say that they are like new it means that they are just like when they first came from Apogee back in the 1980s. ALSO, THEY HAVE THE ORIGINAL NYLON MESH used by Apogee (see photographs). This is no longer available. All refurbished Front Covers now use fly-screen mesh, which produces annoying moire patterns. So I figured that they may be of interest to someone who has Duetta Signature Series Apogees and wants nicer front covers. I will advertise them for sale for maybe 6 months and then, if no one wants them, just throw them out. I still have the original manufacturers packaging used by Apogee (see photographs) and a speaker cover + box weighs just under 40 lb. so UPS will take them. Thus, there should be no problem shipping them securely; however, the boxes measure 63 in x 34 in x 9 in, so shipping is not cheap. Also, I do not see any way of specifying two boxes using the eBay app - hence the handling fee - this is to cover the cost of shipping the other box.
