Acoustic Research AR XA Universal Model Turntable, Serial No. XA208977 **FOR PARTS or RESTORATION**. Two piece platter is in excellent condition, includes nice felt mat. The tonearm is in good condition but could use a cleaning, original counter weight looks great. One of the thread inserts in the original headshell is broken out. Includes a Shure M91ED cartridge but no stylus. The plinth top is faded and has, what looks to be, a stain that was once the belt. The pulley is the 60hz models and also has belt residue on it. The tonearm stand is broken off, it just kind of sits there in the hole. The wood base needs a little love. It is almost completely intact with only a few dings and chips in the veneer, missing the AR badge. The suspension seems to be good, but I did not remove the bottom. I did plug it in and run the motor. It makes a little clicking sound without the belt on. I found a belt that fit (a little tight) and the plater turned with a little help getting started. The clicking sound went away with the belt on. I also checked continuity from the tonearm to the RCA jacks, 0 ohm on all four.
