A Vintage / Original SINGLE (Not a Pair) AR7 / AR-7 Acoustic Research HI-FI Stereo BOOKSHELF SPEAKER - s/n #: 58060 (early style?) - NOT FULLY TESTED (see pics). As found recently, I gave it the AA Battery Click Test & it clicked. My Digital Multimeter reading is 6.5. Since this was the extent of my testing I am selling it as you see it & NOT FULLY TESTED. Please ask any questions prior to placing a bid and/or auctions close. Visually it appears to be in nice original NOT-FULLY-TESTED condition showing light to moderate overall wear w/ some paint splatter & felt feet pads stuck on two sides (see pics). These speakers (circa 1974) were my pride and joy and to be honest I’m sad to let them go but for the past year they’ve just been taking up space. The woofers have been reformed and the capacitors inside replaced but unfortunately there’s a problem… The speaker on the right suffered a fall and the woofer has been damaged so needs replaced. I’ve checked eBay every day since but nothing has come up so I’ve decided to call it quits and say goodbye. As you can see these are cosmetically in great shape; most AR7s I see have ugly external connectors to the tweeters which these don’t have, All I believe these need is to have the one woofer replaced - I’m pretty sure it’s beyond repair, so if you have access to one, or indeed like me have a set with only one working, then these could be for you. Please note that the mark on the cone of the functioning woofer is not a tear but rather a mark that has been on it since new. Also, note the slight separation at the lower left corner of the cabinet which fell over. This could probably be re-glued if need be but I don’t think it is a big issue.
