Removed from a working AR-4X this woofer is in very good shape. Cloth surround is nice and has no tears or rotting. The cloth dust cap is complete and not pushed in. There is some paint scrape on the metal basket. I did a superficial cleaning after removing from the cabinet, cleaned up nice, however, still may require further cleaning. Speaker cabinets were in bad shape but still played great as can be seen in the video. In the video this would be the woofer on the right speaker - there is a paper with a “R” on it, this is so I keep them straight. The speaker has 4X2748H stamped on the back - see image. There are some other numbers under this but I can’t make them out. Also on the side looks like a date stamp of MAR 1973 - see image. For reference only is an image of one of the speakers. Vintage Acoustic Research AR-4XA from Motown Office 1975.Much loved speakers that were in my office at Motown in 1975 then used at home but after a house move in 2005 they have been unused and in storage. Some very minor wear and tear on the back corner of one speaker cabinet but they look in excellent condition and were always great speakers.
