Acoustic Energy AE2 Speakers On offer here are a pair of the increasingly rare, highly acclaimed and extremely desirable Acoustic Energy AE2 Loudspeakers. Having some of my equipment for sale I was asked if I would take these in part exchange. This is something I would usually not consider, but having previously owned a pair of the original AE1s ( whos Achilles heel was their bass response ) I was curious to see if this was rectified with the introduction of the AE2, which it certainly was. They do sound quite wonderful and are in perfect working order and are generally in very good condition, although there are some age related scratches and marks, primarily to the side of one of the enclosures. These were not obvious in situ and become more evident in a certain light and were difficult to pick up with the camera. Indeed if I were to keep them and I was sorely tempted to do so, due to placement this would not have been an issue. But they are present and are therefore for the sake of total honesty worth mentioning. They are of course Bi-wireable, although upgraded QED shorting links are installed should this not be required. As we have come to expect from this generation of Acoustic Energy Speakers, both build and sound quality are exceptional at this price level and they would grace any quality Audio system. Indeed many still believe that they are one of the finest speakers produced by Acoustic Energy.
