The line amplifier section uses a balanced transmission system.The circuit basically consists of three differential amplifiers, with amp1 as input and amp2/amp3 as output.When balanced, the signal is input from the + and - inputs of amp1, amplified, and then input to the next amp2/amp3 respectively.These two pairs of amplifiers feed back their respective outputs to the other side in a cascaded relationship, sending out a symmetrical +- signal with low impedance.The unique feature of this circuit is that even if one side of the output is grounded, both amplifiers will still operate and deliver double the output.Thus, when connected unbalanced via a normal phono jack, both input and output simply need to be connected to the ground (earth) line for normal operation.This configuration ensures that the amplifier configuration remains the same for both balanced and unbalanced connections and provides excellent amplification.
