I found this wonderful amplifier in an estate along with a Yamaha tuner, cassette player and a Marantz turntable. Will be listing all separately. Powered this CA-1000 unit on, and the first thing I saw was the red power lamp does not come on…otherwise all functions appear to be working. It WILL NEED A GOOD CLEANING, as there is static from dust in the controls, noticeable in the tone defeat switches for bass and treble especially. A good contact cleaner spray will hopefully solve that. I tested the tuner function, one phono input, the Aux input and the tape input and all functions operate as they should. I have not opened the unit, as I am not an audio technician….i am selling this unit AS IS and AS Found, at a low opening bid. Powers on and working. Not working Yamaha CA-1000 for sale. Some scratches on the wood veneer but in amazing cosmetic condition otherwise. Loved this amp but I don’t have the time to get it working again. Seems like the issue is with the power supply board and left side power amp. There might be more wrong though, I’m just offering what information I can to a potential buyer. Issue could be with just those boards, could be more widespread.
