They can be linked together to play the same movie at the same time with a USB-A to USB-A cable which I no longer have. Each unit has its own external speakers or the ability to plug in headphones with a standard 3.5mm jack. This includes the 2 dvd/screen units and power cord only. I no longer have the cable that connects the 2 units or the remotes. Each unit does have a full panel of buttons including a +/- button which allows you to navigate the dvd menu without a remote (see pictures). Movies seen in the pictures are not included.
