United Speaker was established in 1955 by William Hecht, the inventor of both the soft dome tweeter and dome midrange driver. United Speaker manufactured speakers for Fisher, McIntosh, MCS (JC Penney), and others. United Speaker later became known as Phase Technology in 1981 when they left New Jersey and built a state of the art manufacturing facility in Florida. This black woofer cage with gasket and trim ring in very rare black came from an MCS 8228 cabinet and are hard to find Parts. I have two but this listing is for one only. I have a horde of spare parts for my MCS United Speaker and NEC model speakers and will be selling other spare drivers as well as a few pair of MCS and Phase Tech speakers from my personal collection. This is a Kevlar mid-range driver from a Bowers & Wilkins 683 S2. Works perfect and you can see 4ohms from my meter. In the first photo you can see the weave pattern at 11 oclock and 4 oclock is inconstant. You cannot feel this and it does not impact the sound in any way. This is the way I bought them and this might a result of hand building and the nature of the material. Speaker plays perfectly. If you need a second speaker driver there are two available.
