This Yamaha R9 unit was shipped to a customer who said it was not working. I authorized a return. When I got it back, I hooked it up with an antenna and was able to pull in radio stations. The stereo comes in the original box, has an owners manual, and a remote control.The hinges on the flip cover are broken and the remote control face was loose.I dont know what to believe about the customers complaint, but I dont want another return. Therefore, I am selling it for parts or restoration.

Normally an in or out button, this knob is adjustable from flat to -30 dB. Heres a brief description of how it works: You set loudness to flat. Then set volume to your personally maximum, comfortable listening level. Then use the loudness knob to control volume as required. The way I see it, the lower the loudness is, the more enhancement there is. Flat basically means no enhancement, which is why it sounds poor. If you listen to it at the flat setting, you need to turn the Volume knob up slightly and then go back to using the loudness knob to adjust volume for everyday use. This is an amazingly powerful receiver. Its in great physical condition and is in the original box.probably the nicest R9 I have seen pass through my hands. Truly a gem! Tested this on my Cerwin Vega VS150s, and the sound is quite impressive. Def made in Japan power like many 80s Era receivers were. It is missing the front flip door, but that does not affect the performance. No remote. Will double box to ship.
