Kenwood KA-2000 Solid State Stereo Amplifier. This is a neat little amp that is in great shape. A couple of small scratches on the face and face edge. Ive been listening to this for a few days and the one thing Ive noticed is that the right channel gets a little wonky at random times. Not quite sure how to describe it, but seems like its dropping out a little. Turning it off for a few minutes and then firing it back up seems to take care of it. Due to the nature of super vintage and used precision machinery, it is completely 3N! Please bid only if you can make a promise. https://audio-heritage.jp/TRIO-KENWOOD/amp/ka-2002.html This time, it was an unrepaired and working item, but the sound on one side of the phono equalizer was small, so when I inspected it, I found that the 1?F capacitor had lost its capacity.I thought it was about time, so I replaced it with a new electrolytic capacitor made in Japan, and soldered it. We are redoing everything. However, the tube capacitor and block are the same, and the tube type coupling is also the same as the one made by Elna, which is very unusual. There is still no problem with capacity. Tube type transistors were only used in early transistors, and this was probably the time when transistors changed from vacuum tubes, so thats probably why they were designed that way. Of course you can exchange it. But Im not sure about the appearance or sound. Only the power supply block was added with a coupling film capacitor; no other modifications were made to the power supply block. Strictly adhere to the original! Its an amplifier with no broken transistors or anything like that, so its a stone! Replacing the transistor definitely changes the sound, so its original! Its precious that the stone is original. In this era, integrated circuit ICs were not used either. Repairs can be made for a lifetime. As long as there is a supply of capacitors and transistors. The clarity of the mid-range sound is noteworthy. The wide range isnt sharp either, especially the low range, which cant be helped considering the size of this amp, but seriously! It makes a sound like this. Subjective. Anyway, the sound is crisp. Its a punchy sound. This is not the case with vacuum tubes. Vacuum tubes cannot match the speed of transistors. It cant be helped. structurally It doesnt use any of the latest ICs that make the sound look better, so its not a filtered sound at all. How about faithfully reproducing the sound of the source (especially the midrange)? One for every family! lol However, personally, I would like a rich sound in the low range, but I would like to supplement this with a speaker.In this day and age, only large-box speakers are available. There is no such thing as todays small size, passive radiator, and soft rubber on the speaker edge! This design does not take small speakers into consideration at all.The sound doesnt even support ridiculous volume, so its a Showa era design! . Is it called playing a large speaker at a low volume? Vintage 1968 Trio (KENWOOD) KA-2000 Hifi Amplifier Boxed SPARES OR REPAIR ONLY. A nice vintage vintage amp in great cosmetic condition (needs a bit of a clean and some cellotape removed from the top) looks like its been stored in its box for the last few decades. CONDITION IS SPARES OR REPAIR, FAULTY, FOR PARTS OR PROJECT, NOT WORKING. Sound is output from the right channel only (on speaker outputs, and both channels on headphone output). Balance control has no effect. Sound output is distorted when a standard line level input is used, if the input is reduced to about 30% of line level the output is not distorted. Phono Inputs not tested. Unfortunately I dont have the time to restore this item, I have not opened the unit or attempted any repairs. The unit has been powered on for a minutes for testing only. The above faults have been identified, please note there will most likely be other issues as yet undiscovered. MAIN UNIT AND BOX ONLY, NO SPEAKERS, NO ADDITIONAL EXTRAS, NO WARRANTY, NO RETURNS. Trio (Kenwood) KA-2000a Stereo Amplifier from 1973. Small size ideal for use in a home office. In good condition, some marks consistent with age and use, please check the photographs. The knobs are not the original but good quality new replacements which suit the amplifier well. Serviced to include cleaning inside and out, all the pots and switches have been treated with switch cleaner, known issue noisy transistors replaced in the pre-amp, bias currents set. No undue crackle, hiss or hum. Soak tested for a few months and 100% working including the power bulb. These are known for producing a sweet sound, this one is no exception.
