Technics SL-Q202 Turntable. High quality direct drive quartz lock. Excellent sound Plinth in good overall condition with a few minor marks. The platter and mat are nice too. No lid. Speeds are stable, quartz lock works, arm is good. Auto return works. Excellent sound. The power cable is quite short. The only issue is the stop function is very slow to raise the arm when playing a record. This is clearly a case of the solenoid inside needing a clean, as the mechanism itself works perfectly. I didnt remove the base to do so, as it is a feature I dont use. Please note there is no cartridge supplied, the one in the pictures will be removed, though the headshell will remain. Absolute bargain. UK ONLY.

DELIVERY:I would prefer collection if possible as I wouldnt want it to get damaged in transit. I am based SE19 - South East London. But happy to package it up as safely as possible if you need it delivered (UK only please). ----- I inherited this turntable from my father around 20 years ago but I got myself a Technics 1210 so stopped using it. I have decided to sell as I was clearing out our storage. Please note there is no headshell and therefore no cartridge or stylus in the auction. Compatible parts are very easily available and I tested it at home using the 1210 headshell. To be honest I couldnt tell the difference in terms of sound quality between the two decks. It feels like the bare bones of the 1200 series with the same curved tone arm. Cosmetically it shows wear and tear. The platter is discoloured on the edges and the table has the odd blemish. The dust cover has broken feet so it no longer attaches to the hinges. The hinges work fine so theoretically you might be able to find a replacement dust cover. The cover has residue of a sticker, shown in the photos, and plenty of scuffs and scratches. I have included a video showing the platter spinning at a stable speed at both 33 and 45. it also shows the stop / auto return function. Again, please note the headshell seen in the video is not part of the auction. In my opinion this is a fantastic deck for anyone looking for a solid turntable that sounds great.
