Aus Platzgründen muss ich mich leider von diesem Schmuckstück trennen, welches mir über viele Jahre treue Dienste geleistet hat. Der TEAC CD-5 gehört tatsächlich zu einer ganz besonderen Klasse an digitalen Plattenspielern, der Silberlinge nicht nur extrem präzise abtastet und äußerst musikalisch interpretiert, sondern obendrein auch noch hervorragend aussieht. Seine Robustheit macht ihn einzigartig. Die charakteristischen (Pin-Point) Spikes-Füße sollen das Gerät wirkungsvoll gegen unerwünschte Gehäusevibrationen und die Übertragung von Fremdresonanzen entkoppeln. Die IR-Fernbedienung verfügt zu den üblichen Funktionen (Index- und Musik-Suchlauf, All/A-B-Repeat, Titeldirektwahl, Programm) auch über Time Edit, Open/Close und eine regelbare Lautstärke. Letztere ist lediglich dann verfügbar, wenn der Player über den regelbaren Cinch-Ausgang mit einem Verstärker verbunden ist oder wenn man Musik über den Kopfhörer-Ausgang genießt. Der zweite Cinch-Ausgang ist fix (nicht regelbar) – erste Wahl also für alle Puristen! Darüber hinaus lässt sich mit der Fernbedienung via Pitch Control auch die Abspiel-Geschwindigkeit bei Bedarf in feinen Abstufungen anpassen. Am Gehäuse selbst sucht man entsprechende Knöpfe oder Schalter vergeblich. Die Front wurde bewusst mit Fokus auf die Minimalfunktionen reduziert und davon profitiert eindeutig die Optik. Die Play- und Pause-Taste rechts neben dem Laufwerkschacht werden bei Aktivität orange hinterleuchtet. Gerade bei abgedimmtem Raumlicht sieht das wirklich extrem schick aus! Wer den CD-Player in Verbindung mit einem separaten D/A-Wandler einsetzen möchte, für den steht via Toslink sogar ein optionaler optischer Digitalausgang auf der Gehäuserückseite bereit. Ebenfalls auf der Rückseite befinden sich zwei Paar vergoldete Koaxial-Anschlüsse (Cinch). Mein Angebot wird abgerundet durch zwei dicke High-End-Verbindungskabel des deutschen Premium-Herstellers Monitor mit vergoldeten Cinch-Anschlüssen und großen Querschnitten. Der CD-Player ist nach meinem aktuellen Test voll funktionsfähig. Neben kleineren Gebrauchsspuren hat sich jedoch vor einiger Zeit eines der Spikes aus dem Kunststoffgewinde des Kegelfußes gelöst (Frontseite rechts). Diesen konnte ich jedoch mittels Klebung wieder passgenau fixieren. Abgebildet ist dieser Fuß auch auf dem letzten Detailfoto, damit ihr erkennen könnt, wie sich das aktuell verhält.
