Used but in great shape! Really powerful! the TS2.12 has two opposing, 12 drive-units, their combined surface area equalling that of a single 18 cone. Yet in the TS2.12, only one of these is driven by the amplifier; the other drive-unit, which Tannoy calls an Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR), is passive, and is intended to balance the actively driven cone in order to minimize cabinet vibrations; both drive-units are made with multi-fiber cones and butyl rubber surrounds. There are a few dings on the finish but nothing big and unless you are looking closely, you dont see them. The speakers look to be in excellent shape. The only issue is one of the speaker covers. We thought we had fixed the tabs with superglue but when I pulled the grill off for more pics they didnt hold.

In diesem Zustand dürfte ein Pärchen wohl kaum noch zu finden sein. Der Wirkungsgrad liegt bei rund 92 dB. Damit sind Röhrenverstärker als Spielpartner prädestiniert. Aber auch feine Transitsorverstärker funktionieren hervorragend! Sie haben hier die Möglichkeit alte Tannoys in einem schönen und sehr wertigen Gehäuse zu bekommen. My friend is making his bespoke, custom-built pair of RFC Cheviots available for sale. Reference Fidelity Components are run by Paul Coupe, arguably the leading Tannoy restorer in the U.K. Paul is meticulous in his design and build. Each pair is hand built and they can take up to six months to be completed. Fortunately, RFC are based in very close proximity. The build cost is in excess of 7k for a complete pair of speakers. The design gets the very best performance from the Tannoy drive units. This pair are photographed and discussed on the RFC Facebook page, if you can access it. The speakers consist of hand-crafted bespoke red cherry veneered birch ply cabinets. The drive units are Tannoy HPD 315A 12”, checked by RFC. There are a pair of matching red cherry external crossovers with associated cables. The cabinets sit on bespoke handcrafted feet and they were made two years ago. The grilles have magnet connections and they can be removed in seconds.The dimensions are 109cms x 47cms x 32cms (hwd.) RFC personally delivered the speakers, so there is no packaging. An old-fashioned demonstration and collection from Gloucestershire appears to be most appropriate, but a meet-up could be arranged. Bidding starts at £3750. Any issues on the photos are caused by glare or poor exposure. The Cheviots are in mint condition.

The frames are in good condition with a few signs of black paint (from enclosure baffle painting!). One crossover lead has a repair to the cable, other is OK. Overall, the condition is as expected for the age. All Pictures are of actual speakers. History: These speakers were bought new between 1969 -1970 andhave been stored unused for approximately the last 10 years. To my knowledgethey have only ever been driven by low power valve amps (Quad 11s). They will be packed in double skinned boxes.
