BRASS SPACER (SLUG) & GRUB SCREW FOR CLAMPING SME SERIES II WAYROD IN SPIDER This is the William Sonics brass spacer and its grub screw for SME 3009 series II improved tonearms. It is used for clamping the wayrod in the decoupling spider. The spacer is used between the screw and the wayrod so preventing the hard screw from cutting into and damaging the wayrod. This allows the wayrod to slide past when slackened. This spacer is better finished than the SME original.This spacer is hand-made by me from cz121 hard brass, this is important otherwise a soft brass spacer would splay out and jam. The size is exactly same diameter and height as SMEs spacer. The grub screw is standard SME size and thread and uses the same hex key.What you will receive is one spacer and one grub screw.Please note the wayrod, weight and spider shown are not included in the sale they are for display purposes. It is coincidental in this period of crisis that the barriers being employed for health reasons are ones that I already use to protect myself in my workshop and have been using for the past three years. The materials I use have always been initially cleaned with isopropanol alcohol before and at various stages of my work with them. I wear a very effective industrial rubber face mask because I do not want to ingest fine rubber particles. Also I wear eye protection against any materials and machine parts that can fly towards my face. Now I wear nitrile gloves for all the processes including packing.
