For sale is this Sony mega disc changer. I am selling this unit AS IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIR. I replaced the main belt, Door opens and closes on command, while discs will occasionally play, it seems to be in need of some kind of alignment. I am not an expert so I don’t know for sure. The carousel tries several times unsuccessfully to line up to be loaded and play then will occasionally properly line up and play successfully. Cosmetically the unit is in good condition and remote control is included. Because of these issues this item MUST be sold AS IS for parts or repair. Remote works fine. Thanks for looking.

Sony Mega Storage 300cd CDP-CX355 - Used.Needs repair. Player turns on and lights up yellow and blue. Door did not open automatically, manually pushes open.

This CDP-CX355 has the typical worn out belt - that is the reason I describe it as not functioning and sell it as defective. To replace the belt is fiddly and I have no time for this. Otherwise this CD-changer is in an excellent condition, with very fine, minimal scratches on top - usually not even visible. Otherwise it looks as new from the front, the back and the sides - please see the unretouched photos - very clean unit. I opened it up carefully to see if there was a fault with the belt and took some snaps too from the the very clean inside. This CD changer was used very little years ago, because it was more for storage and one of several CD players available and then stored for some years without usage. The overall condition and the clean mechanics inside make it a great occasion for fans of this great machines with a bit time on their hands or dealers, who want to do the little repair and resell it. Because of the displaced, worn out belt the CDP-CX355 cannot finish its task and tries to move the carussell - you can hear the mechanics working. I cannot check other functions of course, because without the belt the mechanics dont move. But display, reaction to the remote (on/off) work. The remote control looks like new, it nearly wasnt used at all. No leaked batteries, no dirt. I just cheked the remote with new batteries and it switches the CDP-CX355 on and off. This device comes from a non-smoking, pet free environment. I will ship the CDP-CX355 very carefully packed. Comes with a printed manual in German, Spanish and Dutch. I could not get the door to open on it, when I pushed the button it only opened a little bit and then closed when I pushed the button again.
