Technics RS-X980 Auto Reverse Double Cassette Deck - Hi Fi Separate dating from 1990 Condition – This Cassette Deck has been checked and serviced by my local Hi Fi shop before listing, who were originally Technics main dealers back in the day. The cassette deck is in excellent condition throughout. I noticed one of two of the buttons do stick on occasions, i.e. sometimes have to press one or two buttons twice for example, but the person servicing the cassette deck said this will ease with use. NB – I have tested the deck myself and the sound is still great and the build quality second to none in my opinion. Product Description – The Cassette Deck features two auto-reverse decks (Deck A – Rec/playback – Deck B Playback only). The quick-reverse mechanism used an infrared photosensor for fast switching. Background Technics 360 series of separates were excellent home audio products. Five midi systems were released by Technics in 1990. This cassette deck was included in the X5D system. Excellent working condition Very clean front Minor marks on top, age related. All works as should. NOTE : The peak level indicated shows itself at its max level (see pics 5 & 6) whether the volume is at its lowest or highest. This does not affect the sound or sound level what so ever.
