Technics RS-X502 Stereo Double Cassette Deck – HX Pro Feature - HI FI Separate Dating from 1992 Condition - Full working order, the casing to the cassette deck does show marks, as pictured. These are on the 2 sides and the top of the unit, and one across the front edge. The front fascia is in excellent condition however. The cassette deck has been recently checked & serviced only this month by local Hi Fi shop, who were Technics main dealers, to ensure they are in full working order before listing for sale. Background Technics 360 series of separates were excellent home audio products. Four 360 systems were released by Technics in 1992. This cassette deck was included in the CDX510E system and is therefore a top specification. HX Pro Feature Dolby HX Pro automatically reduces the bias signal in the presence of strong high frequency signals, making it possible to record at a higher signal level, leading to its name: HX = Headroom eXtension. HX-Pro only applies during the recording process. The improved signal to noise ratio is available no matter which tape deck the tape is played back on, and therefore HX-Pro is not a noise-reduction system in the same way as Dolby A, B, C & S, although it does help to improve noise reduction encode/decode tracking accuracy by reducing tape performance non-linearity.
