From a home that clearly appreciates the finer level of Audiofile-hood...like you! Rotel is conservative and known for the best audio quality builds! I have been THRILLED with its performance as an owner. My original intention was to use it as a CD player, reason being is that the audio section of DVD players is more demanding because of movies, therefore DVDs are better performers as CD players than stand alone units (sorry to audio-fact ramble!). Keep in mind, its very important to use high quality interconnects so shop for them carefully. Bass tight, clean and defined, midrange clear, uncluttered and precise and the top end notes seem to hang in mid air without tiring whatsoever! For short money youre audio-dollar goes further with Rotel.This unit plays: pre-recorded cds, cd-rs, cd-rws and computer recorded, too. some of my past standard CD players have trouble with cd-rws and Ive come to expect that, not the case with this unit! ROTEL DVD AUDIO/VIDEO CD PLAYER RDV-1045. Won’t power on. It will try, but the display will flicker on and then off. We are pretty sure it is bad capacitors on the power supply, and it would be a very cheap and quick fix for someone with soldering skills. Power cord included, no remote.
