Icon Audio PS2 Pure Tube Phono Pre-Amplifier. This is a 100% tube phono stage. Zero transistors. It’s an exceptional design — zero hum, full of warmth. It was hand-built March of 2018 in the UK by Icon Audio. Hand-wired point-to-point, no printed circuit boards. I purchased it August of 2018 from Music Direct for $1100. (This model now sells for $1250.) I used it only briefly in 2018 for a series of tests when I was building my own phono stage and comparing different amps on the market. It has less than one week of burn time on it. I have had it in storage since 2018. I just pulled it out and tested it. It still sounds amazing of course -- clear, full, with plenty of gain.
