Rare Vintage 1972 Pioneer Rondo 2000 receiver. In excellent working condition and sounds fantastic too. Vintage 1972! Please refer to the pictures. Pioneer were certainly out to impress back in 1972 when they decided to build this receiver with similar dimensions to an ocean liner. (They did it with a few models, this “Rondo 2000” system receiver is basically a pared down version of the big SX5000 receiver.) Despite its bulk, its power output is a little less than 20 watts per channel, but the sound quality is every bit as smooth as one would expect from vintage Pioneer Hi Fi. And with the big backlit dial and acres of brushed aluminium it will certainly command attention in the room. The inbuilt analogue AM/FM tuner is excellent quality and features a tuning meter to guide tuning on both bands. There’s an input for a turntable, and also a tape input (which can of course be used for any modern line level device). There’s a microphone input as well, which was common in the era. The expected bass, treble and loudness compensation features are all present. Unit will be supplied with FM antenna, AM antenna. We’ve fully restored it, and all functions work perfectly. Overall cosmetic condition is good,with some minor scratching on front panel and volume knob (evident in photo). This big solid unit would be an excellent way to launch yourself into the world of vintage Hi Fi. A big unit: 430W x 298D x 196H mm
