Rare Philips N5748 3-head Direct Drive Cassette Deck Rack Mount. Sounds great, makes impressive recordings all analogue of course. Deck serviced last year, gears replaced. Has a postfade facility which allows an abrupt recording to be faded out during replay! Very handy. Solenoid controls, dolby B, plus philips own DNL noise reducer, off tape monitoring, rack mountable. The originators of compact cassette this machine has a huge following of fans in Europe. Features ferrite heads which are in good condition. Multi voltage setting currently set for 240 vac. Deck has a remote control socket on the back (not supplied). Few light scratches here and there. Negatives: The right hand VU meter has a failed internal spring so does not respond very well to transients maybe an easy fix for an audio specialist. Also the deck occasionally stops now and then, there is slight wow and flutter evident halfway through playback of cassette so another service is probably advisable and a little TLC. Cosmetically good condition some age related marks on case and controls. A little dusty on exterior. This item is very heavy, hence postage costs. Item can also be collected if required.
